FASHION TRENDS
Spring Accessory trends:
If it’s clothes that make the man/woman, then it’s the accessories that set an outfit apart!
Statement pieces: Statement Necklaces, Dramatic Black and White, Geometric Designs, Biker Chic, Floral and Baroque Styles really stand out this Winter and take us into Spring. Make Jewellery that compliments these with Gems cut to compliment and findings, fittings and stringing that completes The Look.
Handmade jewellery has gained position among the top trends this year. The effort that goes into creating each masterpiece is priceless and generates a very raw yet elegant look for the wearer. The use of metals like gold and silver is significant in making beautiful bridal jewellery. The modification of gold and forming with final touches is not possible without hand crafting. Yellow Gold is making a Big Come Back!
Natural Themes: There are many natural looking flower patterns introduced in various types of jewellery sets. Light-weight jewellery with floral patterns in silver and gold.
-Earthy colors, muted neutrals, Yellows and Turquoise. Clasing Colours are still bang on Trend.
-Faux Suede cord
-Animal prints (prints and textures on castings)
-Natice American Indian Style
-Stackable rings and long shield rings
The use of Beads and Pearls in jewellery continues to be in vogue. Pearl Jewellery is available in various types ranging from extremely light-weight ideal for teens and college going girls to heavy sets or necklaces, ideal for an occasion. Pearls impart that glamorous look to a necklace, pendants, earrings, anklets and brooches and suit us so well at any age.
Gemstone Jewellery:
Gemstones are the most integral part of fashionable jewellery. The look and feel of natural gems to a piece of jewellery is unmatched. Sapphire is another classical gemstone used in jewellery trends 2012. Blue sapphires are timeless and sapphires are available in many other colours too.
Rubies are utterly glamorous with their perfect, beautiful, attractive and traditional red colour. These attributes make it the most coveted gemstone among women.
Gold is Back!
Word on the street is "lots of gold" and we can't get enough of it either! Trends include wearing Gold with monochrome outfits and nails.
Amber in its raw form is a fossilized tree resin, which becomes hard with processing or passage of time. This is an ancient gemstone. Average age of an amber stone is about one million years and it still continues to retain its shape after that. Amber jewellery has been worn and admired for centuries and it is an important part of jewellery trends in 2012.
Removable collar and Necklaces over Collars: When the best philosophy is actually a smaller (more curated) wardrobe, accessories find themselves with a more defining role. This is one of them: the detachable collar that can be worn stand alone, over, under, on top of or inside. Versatile and flexible, it’s an accessory that continues for 2013 and works in so many ways. Also, great chunky necklace/buttoned-up shirt combo's. To get the look, mix heavy metal over a delicate silk.
Statement collars:
The humble shirt gets a bold reworking in 2012 with collars that are embellished with beads, contrasting, removable or otherwise intricately detailed and jewellery collars. The collar gets the spotlight directed on it this year.
Spring Colour Trends:
Everyone approaches colour differently. While our wardrobes are usually dominated by one or two of them, often when we shop we’re partial to investing in some seasonal colours:
-Monochrome black and white is stunning. If block black drains you, wear white closer to your face, with black lower down. Or wear white with a strinking black belt and accessoried. Choose black and white checks, stripes and clash monochrome patterns. Team with a splash of colour, such as a bright yellow or red handbag.
-Yellow is Huge this Spring and brings sunshine whatever the weather! If yellow is tricky for you, choose shades that compliment your skin tone. For instance, "Taxi Yellow" best suits Spring and Autumn skin tones (yellow-based), Acid Yellow suits Summers and Winters (cool skin tones).
-Clash Yellows with your favourite colours; turquoise, purple etc.
-Milky stones with white sheel and painted metal accents
-cream, white, yellow and light turq patinas
-Biker Chic is really popular right now. Team glamourous Biker Jackets with long skirts, as well as trousers and combine black & white for more drama.
-Seventies-inspired colours: browns, yellows, cobalt blue, orange, grey and black

Trends for 2013 are still very much inspired by the Glamourous Fifties. Vintage design, cinema, celebrities, nature and fiction!
VINTAGE:
Vintage continues to be huge this season with Fifties-inspired Glamour and Retro styles from the Seventies.
Art Deco fashion:
The design movement that brought us geometric shapes, symmetry and modernism is another aspect of the ’20s and ’30s being revived in 2013.
Tribal / ethnic fashion:
It’s evolved over the past few years, and now the trends of tribal and ethnic fashion have been reborn with a new focus on prints and texture. Less fierce and more organic, it’s still on trend and makes it easy to stand out in a crowd.
